Tips How To Survive On Black Friday

Hi everyone,
Basking in the lethargy of Thanksgiving feasts is a short-lived activity for the serious shopper. Black Friday, the day following Thanksgiving, is like one big universal shoppers’ alarm clock, signaling the beginning of holiday deals and reminding you that you’re already late. And this alarm clock rings early…I mean, really early. Many stores open their doors at 4 or 5AM on Black Friday, and some even open at midnight! Anyone who has participated in the Black Friday “festivities” knows that the lines are no joking matter either, and safety remains a priority for those braving the malls.
Okay, so no, this does not sound pleasant, but yes, the deals are amazing. So, where does one begin? To spare you some panic and pushing, I’ve done my research. Here are some of the best ways to prepare for Black Friday, and later, I’ll share some of the best beauty deals I was able to find for you. Enjoy!
Black Friday Prep
It’s true what they say: If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail. Don’t let your early morning efforts go to waste. Here are some easy things you can do to prepare yourself for Black Friday:
  • Plan ahead and know what you’re looking for. Don’t wander aimlessly on Friday; make a list ahead of time and know what you want to buy. Then, do your research, clip your coupons, and schedule your trips according to stores’ opening times.

  • Check online first. If a product is available online for the same price, it might not even be necessary for you to trek it to a particular store. Also, many stores will preview their sales on their websites before their doors open Friday morning.
  • No riding solo! Bring at least one friend with you. They will help you with decision-making, moral support, driving your getaway vehicle, and at the very least, can be used as a human shield.

  • Bring some cash. You never know what might happen, and some places may have cash-only lines or machines that aren’t working. Physically handing over money might also remind you to stick to your budget!

  • Check it out before checking out. Find out the store’s return policy and what (if any) warranties apply for your purchases, juust in case.

  • There’s an app for that. There are a lot of applications out there that promise to check for price-matching opportunities, so you can check on your phone while you shop!  Many superstores also have their very own apps that allow you to look for specific items and scan QR bar codes.

  • Bring a snack and a smile. Pop a mini bottle of water and a granola bar in your bag in case hunger creeps in, and have fun on your shopping adventure!
Don’t forget to check back later for the deets on some great beauty deals!
